From Poland: 6 - 15 October from Krakow. Return to Warsaw. Price 11 300 SEK
Day 1 - 2. From Sweden, from Kraków
Ferry from Nynäshamn (near Stockholm) at 18.00 Arrival Gdansk at 12.00
Train to Kraków. Here we pick up participants joining i Kraków
Train to Przemysl near the border. Overnight at hotel Europejski
Day 3 - 4. Lviv
Train to Lviv in the morning. Tour leader Iryna Prokopyshyn will receive us on the platform.
Cultural sightseeing. We visit the best places of the historical center of Lviv by foot in company of Yuri. The heart of Lviv's old town, Rynok Square (Market Square) is a UNESCO-listed site with colorful renaissance buildings, cafes, and a vibrant atmosphere.
Lviv Opera House, a magnificent architectural gem. Visit the military cemetery which is expanded almost every day.
Day 5 - 6. Odesa
Odesa is a big city with a rich history. We walk in the central parts in company with Misha as our local guide
Visit to the famous catacombs
Visit to two volunteering organizations
Optional, a performance at Odesa Opera House
Party at the beach of Black Sea with wine and dried octupus
Day 7 - 8. Mykolaiv
Hired bus 80 km east along the coast to Mykolaiv where we will see more destruction caused by Russian shelling
In company with Oleksii we walk around to see what the Ruzzians achieved and how local people fough back in the beginning of the war
Visit to one volunteering organization
On the second day Oleksii will take us further to the east to villages earlier occupied by Russian army. We see the massive destruction, listen to people who lived there and see them rebuilding their houses.
Return to Mykolaiv and nighttrain to Kyiv. Sleepers.
Day 9 - 10. Kyiv
Arrival in the morning. Tour in central parts of Kyiv by foot and public transport.
We will visit the most impressively ancient 12th-century Mykhailivskyi and 11th-century Sophia Cathedrals, as well as the famous Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra - until recently a stronghold of the Russian Orthodox Church.
We will also visit an exhibition of destroyed Russian armored vehicles. Museum of the Formation of the Ukrainian Nation - the newest museum of Ukrainian history. Here we will be surprised by how much Ukrainian history is intertwined with the Swedish. This museum is close to the symbol of the Motherland sculpture. Maybe, a total of 6 hours.
Meeting with non-profit organization Building Ukraine Together. This is a very famous organization in Ukraine for youth to help rebuild Ukraine. They have projects all around Ukraine. They organize youth to spend several weeks in places where they can help with reconstruction. People do it for free and organization collects donations to buy materials, food and other necessary things. Very popular among students. Free time.
Last evening by nighttrain to Chelm in Poland. Sleepers
Day 11 - 12. Warsaw or Sweden
In the morning change to train to Warsaw where you may leave if you earlier joined in Kraków.
Those going to Sweden catch the train for Gdansk where we spend a few hours before taking the ferry north to Nynäshamn, near to Stockholm.
As everybody understands this itinerary is subject to change. Everything depends on the security situation
