Ukraine October and April -27

The tour in October is now fully booked. 20 people, of which 8 are from countries other than Sweden. BUT from (bad) experience I know there will be cancellations. If you want to join that tour, you should apply NOW and you will probably get a place.

Our previous tour leader Iryna Prokopushin is expecting a baby in November. I got to know that only at departure from Kyiv Railwaystation in April. Since then I have been searching for her replacement. Only last week it was decided that the tour leader in October will be Anastasia Lazo. She is 42 years and has a long experience in travel trade, guiding groups and delegations around Ukraine but also abroad. She speaks excellent English after living one year in Alaska. Like all Ukranians she has a nickname - Asya. Hence, when you get to know a Ukrainian person, you have to remember two names, the formal name and the nickname. Not very convenient to an outsider, but a necessity!

April -27

The idea was to create a completely new itinerary. I wanted to go to Kharkiv, where the very first trip went. The problem is that the villages outside Kharkiv that were previously occupied by the Russians are not considered safe today. No one knows what the situation will be like in ten months. But to now advertise a trip to an area that is not considered safe today is not possible. If I do, there is the risk that few people will want to sign up.

Therefore, the tour in April 2027 will go to Chernihiv. There, the Russian occupation of the villages at the beginning of the war is a thing of the past. So we will use the same itinerary as last April.

Five persons have already signed up for that tour. Without knowing the itinerary!
