Busy time in Kyiv

29.4 Yesterday we went sightseeing in the city. The problem is that Kyiv has so incredibly much beautiful, interesting, and important to offer. The churches are breathtaking, but they make me wonder how previous rulers spent the country's resources to please God and thereby secure themselves a fast track to Paradise. Next year I want to have more time to see all the wonders.

And there is certainly much more than the churches. The Museum of Contemporary History shows the country's history from the 11th century when the country was called Rus (in the photo marked dark yellow) and for a number of years was ruled by Ingegerd, daughter of the Swedish Viking-era Olof Skötkonung.

Glory UA

We always visit this organization. It is one of the big ones having received donations exceeding six million euros since 2022. They support the Signal Battalion with about 150 fighters. They also produces films. One is "Follow me," which has won several awards. A particularly dramatic story depicting how a reconnaissance drone saves the lives of two civilians who accidentally drove into enemy positions. You can find it on YouTube! They also publish books in both Ukrainian and English and, not least, provide legal assistance to military personnel.

Olena, beautifully dressed in vyshivanka, first gave a long talk in perfect English. After that we all watched their movie and had private talks with tea and snacks.

I asked her about her opinion about the war. This was her reply:

We have lost so much and so many. We have to win, we simply cannot lose!

After having lunch at my favorite fast food place Puzata Chata we walked back to our hotel. In the afternoon rest of the group met with a small non-registered organization, Radytski. I was sitting in my room writing this blog.
